Obituary: Grace Janette (Denson) Hill

MADISON [Wisconsin] - Grace Janette Hill, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2001, at Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. She was born in Rockford, Illinois, on October 1, 1910, to the late Arthur and Anna Denson. She graduated from Madison Central High School. Grace married Harold Edwin Hill in Madison on March 19, 1930. In 1931 they relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Grace spent the next 15 years devoted to her home and family. In 1947, the family returned to Madison, and when the family matured Grace began a series of employments: F.W. Woolworths, S.S. Kresges, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, and the Oregon School for Girls, from where she retired. Grace is survived by three sons, Robert Edwin Hill, Madison, James Barton Hill, West Burke, Vermont, and John Arthur Hill, Branford, Connecticut; two daughters, Jo Ann Marie Harrison, Madison, and Judy Bess Halberslaben, Deerfield; sons- and daughters-in-law; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren (two who bear her name, Melissa Grace Crockett and Julia Grace Perrelli). The funeral service will be private. Grace will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery next to her husband, who preceded her in death. Arrangements are pending.
