Obituary: Richard Pahmeier - Class of 1953

MONONA - Richard Pahmeier, age 72, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 23, 2007, at home. He was born on Jan. 12, 1935, in Madison, to Art and Bernice (Crawford) Pahmeier. Richard graduated from Madison Central High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 until 1955. Richard was a meat cutter by trade, and retired from Sentry Foods. He was passionate for adventurous activities throughout his life, including sky diving, scuba diving, skiing and four wheeling. Richard was an avid Wisconsin sports teams fan and NASCAR fan. He was a Christian. Richard leaves behind many great friends with whom he shared many good times. He is survived by his children, Jan Pahmeier of Bedford, Ind., Richard Pahmeier of Bedford, Ind., Toni (Larry) Wood of Junction City, Ark., Charmaine (Thomas) Cardwell of Louisville, Ky., Tracie (James) Kestler of Louisville, Ky., Roshara Awtrey of Monona, Cheress (Todd) Steinhorst of Powdersprings, Ga., Gordon (Pam) Pahmeier of Monona, Vicky (Troy) Lee of Bedford, Ind., and Angie (Hany) Pahmeier Mishrgy of Monona; grandchildren, Erin, Brandon, Crystal, A.J., Joshua, Stephanie, Michelle, Chad, Joshua, Spenser, Caitlyn, Austin, Abigail and Alysha; great-grandchildren, A.J. and Kiley; and four sisters, Barbara, Niva, Pearl and Doris. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gordon and Wayne. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2007, with military rites conducted at 5 p.m. He will be sadly missed.
