Obituary: Marilyn K. Kerwin

WINDSOR - Marilyn K. Kerwin, age 64, passed away at her home with her husband by her side on Saturday, July 21, 2007. She was born on May 20, 1943, in Madison. Marilyn was proudly raised by her mother Lela and her stepfather Bob Minch. She had attended St. James Grade School and Central High School in Madison. For 22 years, Marilyn worked for the VA Hospital in food service. On October 6, 1990, Marilyn was united in marriage to Charles M. Kerwin in DeForest. Marilyn cherished the time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Charles Kerwin of Windsor, three children, Lynn Olson of Windsor, Kim (Lynn) Timm of Fox Lake and Jeffrey Kerwin of Cottage Grove; three grandchildren, Kyle, Benjamin and Hannah; her stepfather, Bob Minch of Sun Prairie; a sister, Judith (Ray) Schmid of Sun Prairie; two nieces, Theresa (Terry) Merrill of Dickenson, Texas and Lisa Valentin of Madison; great-nieces, Kristin, Lisa, Meghan and Celie; and her dog, Joey. She is also survived by other loving family and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Lela on Dec. 31, 1998. A memorial service will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Rd., DeForest on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at 7 p.m. with Father Gary Wankerl officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Private burial will be held at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Meriter Hospital ER, 7th and 8th floors for all their guidance and support.
