Obituary: Arthur Frame - Class of 1941

MADISON/ SUN PRAIRIE/ STOUGHTON - Arthur Frame, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Madison, from complications of pneumonia. He was born on Aug. 8, 1922, in Edgerton. He was raised in the Madison Area by John "Jack" and Lucille Frame. Art graduated from Madison Central High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1945, during World War II. Art married Lorraine Hawkinson in St. Petersburg, Fla., in April 1943. After military service, he worked as a union painter for several years. Over the course of his life Art owned several successful restaurants, taverns and supper clubs in the Dane county area. He loved hunting and fishing and instilled a love of nature in his children. He was a talented musician and frequently played the guitar and sang with family and friends. He was a long term member of the American Legion of Sun Prairie. Art is survived by his children, Bonnie (Robert) Wing of Peoria, Ill., Christine (Robin) Frame-Heiman of Sun Prairie and Rick Frame (Sue Hahn) of Sun Prairie. He is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a special cousin and lifelong friend, Betty Skrenes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Hawkinson Frame; granddaughter, Gina Dyer; and his parents, Jack and Lucille Frame. A private burial service was held on Saturday, June 17, 2006. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at CRESS FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTER, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006. Pastor Lisa Nelson from Bristol Lutheran Church will preside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, 5395 E.
