Obituary: Victor Henry Cramer

MADISON - Victor Henry Cramer, age 91, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2005, at St. Marys Care Center, Madison. Victor was born on Jan. 7, 1914, the son of John and Ella (Voelkel) Cramer. He attended and graduated from Central High School. He was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church. Victor worked as a maintenance foreman for the City of Madison Parks Department for 42 years before retiring in 1978. He was a past president of the City Employee Union Local 60 and a past executive board member of AFSME Council 40. Victor was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post No. 1318. Survivors include four daughters, Barbara (Joseph) Dedrick of Montello, Vicki (Robert) Femrite, Denise (William) Curtin and Kim (Bob Ellis) Cramer all of Madison; three sons, Scott (Kathryn) Cramer, Kent Cramer and Jan Cramer, all of Madison; a sister, Evelyn Schreier of LaCrosse; a brother, Helmar Brown of Finley Park, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Mitzy, his pet companion for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice, on Dec. 31, 1997; and a grandson, Chad Dedrick. Mass of Christian burial will take place at the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Ave., Monona, on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. John Meinholz will celebrate. A visitation will take place at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., on Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and also at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will conclude at the Highland Memory Gardens, Madison. The family wishes to extend special thanks to all the staff of Harmony Living Center and St. Marys Care Center.
