Obituary: Walter M. Lindauer - Class of 1949

MADISON [Wisconsin] - Walter M. Lindauer, age 69, died on Thursday, February 1, 2001 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. He was born May 27, 1931 in Madison, the son of Walter C. and Mary (Kelliher) Lindauer. He was a graduate of Central High School in Madison where he resided his entire life. He married Elaine D. Kobriger on February 9, 1963. Walter was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Elaine; two sons, Robert (Jayne), of Verona, and John (Michelle), of Madison; a daughter, Susan, of Appleton; his grandchildren, Danielle, Tyler, and Carlie; his brother Richard (Donna), of Madison; his sister-in-law, Theresa Rudolph, of Whitefish Bay; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Bobby; his sister Mary Jean; and his niece Mary Jean Lindauer. Wally was employed by Schappe/Don Miller Dealerships until his retirement in 1996. Wally enjoyed pitching for many years in the Major League Softball division of the Madison Recreation Department. He was an avid Badger and Packer fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and golfing on many of the area golf courses. The highlights of his mornings were having coffee with his friends and visiting with the gang at Parman's service station. Wally will be remembered for his sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A memorial funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2131 Rowley Ave, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2001. The Reverend Roman Shemayev will officiate. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at the Church until the service time.
