Obituary: Mary Frances (Short) Moon

RIDGEWAY [Wisconsin] - Mary Frances Moon, age 76, of Ridgeway, passed away on Friday evening February 9, 2001, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. She was born on June 4, 1924 in Dodgeville, a daughter of Roy and Ethel (Brunker) Short. She was raised and educated in Ridgeway and graduated from Madison Central High School. On April 22, 1946, Mary married Wendell Toad Moon at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in Ridgeway. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1987. They resided in Ridgeway all of their married lives. She was a member of St. Bridgets Catholic Church and its Altar Society, Order of Catholic Forresters, and Barneveld Senior Citizens. Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary DeVoe, of Ridgeway, and Kay (Ron) Tippett, of Mt. Horeb; eight grandchildren, Peggy (Bill) Ramsey, David DeVoe, Jr., Dan (Torrie) DeVoe, Doug Stampfli, Billy (Jennifer) Stampfli, John (Julia) Stampfli, James Stampfli and Amanda Stampfli; six greatgrandchildren, Dan Hess, Abby Ramsey, Cierrah, Nikkiah, William 11 and Savannah Stampfli; three brothers, Frank (Sharon) Short, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tom (Barb) Short, of Green Bay, Jim (Deb) Short, of Dodgeville;. her sister-in-law, Betty Dietzman, of Ridgeway; special friends, LaVerne Cub Shea, of Ridgeway, Marcella Landin, of Ridgeway; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her very faithful companion, Missy Moon. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, William Short. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at ST. BRIDGETS CATHOLIC CHURCH, in Ridgeway. Father Donald Lange will officiate: Burial will be held at St. Bridgets Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Ridgeway where a parish rosary service will be held at 8:00 p.m.
