MADISON - Jon M. Narum, age 67, of Fitchburg, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2005. Jon was born on Sept. 24, 1937, to Lester L. and Ruth (Myer) Narum in Madison. He attended Central High School, and after graduating, he entered the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Va., and was aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Meredith. After leaving the Navy, he married and moved back to Wisconsin where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. Several years later, he moved his wife and daughter back to Roanoke, Va., where he lived and worked as a plasterer until his retirement. He then moved back to Wisconsin. Jon is survived by four children, Peggy (Charles) Phillips, Brenda Powell, John Narum and Joey Narum; he had eight grandchildren, Craig, Jeremy and Aleasha Phillips, Jessica, Amy and Michael Narum, and Zachary and Rebecca Narum; and he had two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Dakota. Jon is also survived by a sister, Nancy (Bruce) Angeli; and a brother, Michael (Glendora) Narum. He will be sadly missed by nieces; a nephew; other relatives; and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2005, at the ELLESTAD FUNERAL HOME, 500 N. 8th St., Mount Horeb.
