MADISON - James L. Armstrong, age 60, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006, after a long struggle with heart disease. He was born on June 5, 1945, in Madison, a son of Keith and Bernadine (Turnipseed) Armstrong. James graduated from Madison Central High School in 1960. He married Jodi M. Olson on July 17, 1970, in Madison. James worked for the state of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation. He was a member of Calvary Gospel Church. James is survived by his wife, Jodi; a son, Timothy James Armstrong (fiancee, Becky Jakob); granddaughter, Lillian Marlene Armstrong; his mother, Bernadine Armstrong of Orlando, Fla.; brothers, Ken (Betty) Armstrong of Orlando, Fla., and Keith (Barb) Armstrong of Windsor; and several adoring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at CALVARY GOSPEL CHURCH, 5301 Commercial Ave., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006, with the Rev. John Grant and the Rev. Terry Hardt presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2006, and at the church from noon until the time of the service on Monday.
