MADISON - Darlene E. Arndt, age 75, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. Darlene was born on April 3, 1930, in Madison, the daughter of Ervin and Hazel (Goodlad) Johnston. After graduating from Madison Central High School, Darlene furthered her education at Madison Area Technical College. She was married to W.F. Arndt. Darlene was a fiscal clerk for the state of Wisconsin for 25 years, retiring in 1995. She was a lifelong resident of Madison and was a member of the Monona Grove Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Darlene is survived by her grandchildren, Rachel Dodds, Daniel Dodds, Michael Dodds, Matthew Wilcox, Joseph Arndt and David Arndt; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Arndt; her daughter, Nancy Dodds-Wilcox; her grandson, Richard "Ricky" Arndt; her parents; and her sisters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at the MONONA GROVE KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESS, 4545 E. Buckeye Road. Family and friends may visit at 2 p.m. and the funeral talk will be at 3 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at HospiceCare for the love and care they gave Darlene.
