Obituary: Deloris Marie (Viviani) Benzschawel - Class of 1947

MIDDLETON - Deloris Marie Benzschawel, age 77, passed away on Monday, Sept. 24, 2007. She was born on May 7, 1930, in Madison, the daughter of Angelo and Mary (Fiore) Viviani. Deloris was united in marriage to Dorn Benzschawel on June 24, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Madison. After raising her children, she joined her husband as the manager/ owner of the Middleton IGA store for 20 years. She loved to travel especially with her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Colleen, with whom she and her husband took many trips throughout the United States. Her most precious times were spent with her family, particularly her many grandchildren whom she adored. Favorite summer trips included vacations to Door County and Lake Delton. She spent many hours volunteering at the Middleton Library. Deloris is survived by her husband, Dorn; a son, David (Linda) Benzschawel of Madison; three daughters, Susan (Greg) Brown of Marietta, Ga., Patricia Benzschawel of Pocatello, Idaho, and Maryanne (Rick) Melby of Houston, Texas; and 10 grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Steven, Elizabeth, Kristen, Andrea, Colin, Kyle, Rachael and Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Richard Viviani. Funeral services will be held at ST. BERNARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton. Friends may also call on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
