Obituary: Howard David Yaskal - Class of 1959

BELLEVILLE - Howard David Yaskal, age 62, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004. Howard was born in Liberty, N.Y. on Aug. 20, 1941, the son of Arthur and Bessie (Schackter) Yaskal. He graduated from Central High School, in Madison, in 1959. Howard served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 until 1965 when he returned to Madison. He was united in marriage to Maureen McAuliffe on Nov. 3, 1973, in Carbondale, Ill. Howard loved being with his wife, his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; a son, Jonathan (Brenda), and their sons, Joseph and Benjamin, of Cottage Grove; a daughter, Jessica (Russell Jr.) Menendez of New Glarus, and their daughter due to be born in May; and a brother, Steve (Barbara) of Florida. Howard was predeceased by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Rabbi Brian Field will preside.
