Obituary: Morris A. Phillips

MADISON [Wisconsin] - Morris A. Phillips, 68, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Nov. 1, 2001, in a Madison hospital. Morris was born on May 21, 1933, in Milwaukee, to Albert and Esther Phillips. He grew up in Shorewood Hills, graduated from Madison Central High School, and attended Texas A&M University. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Marta Phillips of Lima, Peru; cousins, Enola Borgh of Wauwatosa, Alan Borgh of Wauwatosa, Karin Borgh of Milwaukee, Ellen Olinger of Oostburg, Paul Brandt of Boscobel, and Neal Brandt of Basking Ridge, N.J.; cousins-in-law, Irma Brandt of Wauwatosa, Bill Christofferson of Milwaukee, Karl Olinger of Oostburg, Colby Christofferson of Los Angeles and Molly Christofferson of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David. We will gather to celebrate Morris' life at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK mausoleum chapel, 601 E. Broadway, Monona, with the Reverend Cynthia Ganzkow-Wold and the Reverend Stan Klyve officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Middleton; the Meriter Foundation; Wisconsin Public Radio; or the charity of your choice. SCHROEDER-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements. Morris was truly loved and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to deeply thank the kind and caring people in the community who made it possible for Morris to live the way he wanted to live. You know who you are!
