STOUGHTON - David H. Loy died on April 16 in Kindred Hospital in Greenfield. He had been battling heart problems for many years and had been in hospitals and a rehabilitation center for over four months. He was born in Madison on April 24, 1945. David grew up in Madison and graduated from Central High School in 1964. He worked for many years as a bartender in Madison. For most of those years, he tended bar at the Caribou Tavern until he had to quit working because of his heart condition. David, from a young age, raised various breeds of pigeons and won many awards for them. He was a member of the Rock River Racers Pigeon Club and had belonged to other Wisconsin racing clubs over the years. For the last seven years, he resided in Stoughton. David is survived by his brothers, William Loy of Knoxsville, Tenn., Richard Loy of Greendale; his sister, Jean Swanson of St. Michael, Minn; and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy (Effinger) Loy. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at THE RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N.
