MADISON/ SUN PRAIRIE - Viola N. Boyd, age 76, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 5, 2001, at Columbus Health Care Center. Viola was born on May 11, 1924, in Madison, the daughter of Frank and Beaulah (Griffin) Young. She was a lifelong Madison resident and attended Madison Central High School. She worked as a secretary for professors at the University of Wisconsin until her marriage. She met Robert C. Boyd at a Halloween dance, and they were married on April 16, 1948, in Madison. Viola was a devoted wife and mother. Survivors include a son, Michael (Nancy) Boyd of Madison; two daughters, Jane (Curt) Schwenn of Madison, and Debbie Boyd of Sun Prairie; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Young of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1983; two infant sons; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, on Wednesday, February 7, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Richard Horst will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home 2418 N. Sherman Ave. (608) 249-8257
